1. What is Professional Supervision?
Professional supervision is a structured, confidential space for individuals working with people to reflect on workplace challenges, successes, and well-being. It provides an opportunity to step away from daily work pressures and engage in meaningful discussions that support professional identity and mental well-being.
2. Who Can Benefit from Professional Supervision?
Supervision is beneficial across all sectors, particularly for those working in the education and health sectors; and also for carers, managers. volunteers and employees. It is also helpful for those working in isolation and without collegial support, allowing balance between professional and personal lives.
3. How Does the Supervision Process Work?
After an initial ‘meet and greet’, sessions are held once a month for an hour, either in person (Nelson/Tasman), online, or by phone. A Reflective Learning Model is used to explore various topics, with mutual feedback provided at the end of each session. A collaborative agreement is established and reviewed every three months.
4. What Topics Can Be Discussed in Supervision?
Supervision covers a range of topics, including burnout, workplace relationships, stress management, goal setting, career aspirations, and work-home balance. The sessions are designed to be solution-focused, strengths-based, and supportive.
5. How Much Does Professional Supervision Cost?
The cost of supervision is $120 + GST per session, invoiced monthly. Payment can be arranged if your workplace has a provision for Professional Supervision as part of their Wellbeing /Hauora strategy. Or you can pay in a private capacity. Sessions include some email liaison between meetings, as required.
